I’ve launched a YouTube Channel! Yikes! I’m really putting myself out there, but I’ve wanted to do this for awhile.
I’m doing this for a few reasons. First, I just really like getting out in nature and I want to share the adventures I get into while going after compositions.
I also want to show my work on a larger screen. Until now, Instagram has been my only way of promoting my work online. The Instagram format is pretty rough on us landscape photographers. Wide landscapes with intimate details are completely lost on a two inch wide screen. Not to mention, a quiet forest scene can’t compete against a flashy video Reel. So viewing, at the very least, on a phone held horizontally helps. However, I imagine most people view YouTube on a laptop or desktop or a tablet, and maybe on a TV.
Lastly, the story behind the photo is important to the viewer or purchaser of a print, so being able to show them the journey it took to get it will mean so much more. It’s not A.I., it took getting up at 3AM, driving hours and hiking up a mountain side.
Most of the content will be from Oregon, but I like to travel and explore so we’ll see what the future holds. My first video is up and I’m going to try and release videos on a regular basis. If you like what you see, please subscribe. I look forward to showing you much more.
